Fasting is not normally required for a full blood count or a standard urinalysis. However, follow any specific instructions provided by Corilab or your doctor, particularly if you are having other laboratory tests at the same time.

Diet

Unless otherwise instructed, continue to follow your usual diet and maintain your normal fluid intake in the days leading up to the check-up.

Medication

Do not stop, delay or change any prescribed medication unless specifically instructed by your doctor. Tell your doctor or the laboratory about any medication, vitamins or supplements you are taking, as some may affect the results.

Urine sample collection (standard urinalysis)

• Use a sterile disposable container with a secure lid and a label suitable for recording the required patient information. These containers are available from the laboratory or any pharmacy.
• Wash your hands and genital area before urinating.
• Collect a small amount of urine from the first urination of the morning, after discarding the initial stream.
• Deliver the sample as soon as possible.
